Gullfoss: “Beautiful waterfall but very busy”

The waterfall in itself is absolutely gorgeous. If you’re lucky, you’ll even see a rainbow. There are lots of tourists over here, but in this case this also means: nice walkways and viewing platforms accessible for people in a wheelchair. Food in the cafe is ok. Lots of room to sit and it is even possible to eat outside.

Einar Jonsson Museum (Listasafn Einars Jonssonar): “Beautiful place in the heart of Reykjavik”

Excellent sculptures in a beautiful garden. There is no fee for visiting the garden and the sculptures are really amazing. Well worth a visit.

Kjallarinn: “Great dining experience”

My boyfriend and I had a lovely evening in this superb restaurant. We went for the exotic menu: ‘a five course roller coaster ride for the taste buds’ as was specified by the menu. This turned out to be very true indeed. Each course was presented with much attention to detail and tasted delicious. Especially loved the langoustines. The lamb was very tender and the tuna was perfect. Finishing of with a crème brûlée was just perfection. I had a glass of excellent chardonnay with my meal.

Staff was also very friendly and professional. Our waitress had a great sense of humor and we felt very at ease and welcome.

The interior of the restaurant is very cosy and can accomodate larger groups without it feeling crowded (there were about eight people at the tabel next to us). I was not a big fan of the black glasses which were used to serve the water. You couldn’t see if the glas was full or empty.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Ramen Momo: “Lovely noodle place”

This little restaurant in Reykjavik really reminded me of the noodle bars in Japan. Everything felt really authentic although the owner is Tibetan. I didn’t had to wait longer than five minutes before my udon noodles arrived. They were great.

Perfect place for a cheap, quick and healthy bite to eat.
