A Tavola is a really authentic Italian place in the city center of Düsseldorf. We were served by an older Italian gentleman and we even were serenaded to! Lovely atmosphere in this place, but be warned, it can get crowded and noisy, because the tables are placed rather close to each other. The kitchen is open, so you can get a glimpse of the cooking action that is going on.
We all had a different pasta dish (tagliatelle con funghi, spaghetti carbonara, pappardelle mit wildschweinragú and linguine mit hummerkabben). All the dishes were excellent and well worth the price we payed for them. The pasta was super tasty and perfectly cooked, as can be expected when you dine in a real Italian restaurant.
We ordered a bottle of very good Italian Chardonnay (and a second one, because we enjoyed the wine so much). As a dessert we ordered panna cotta and tartufo. Both lovely! To top the meal of we drank a glass of limoncello. Really enjoyed the jokes of our Italian waiter. Felt right at home!
I can highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for good, honest Italian food and ambiance!
