Hotel Ceilidh-Donia: “Nice family run hotel in the outskirts of Edinburgh”

Very good service and very friendly and welcoming staff. Breakfast was fine, but I missed fresh fruit salad as an option. Max is a great barman who has a friendly word of wisdom for everyone. Room was clean and comfy, but our room being situated near the entrance of the hotel, we had some noice from the other guests coming and going. All in all we had a lovely stay here.

When going to the city center you need to take the bus, but that isn’t a problem, there are more than enough busses, we never had to wait for longer than ten minutes.

Lios Mhoire Bed and Breakfast: “Lovely host, great stay!”

Kareen is such a warm and welcoming person, who makes you feel right at home. She is the perfect hostess and gave us some great tips to view the area of Glencoe. The room we stayed in was clean, with a great rain shower! Breakfast was very good. I loved the fresh fruit salad and the greek yoghurt and the cooked breakfast was also very delicious. We got the chance of meeting the other guests while taking breakfast together at the big dining room table. Very pleseant to be able to exchange stories. The location nearby the lake is also perfect!

I can definitely recommend this B&B!

Tailrace Inn Bar: “Great bar food”

I had the haggis, neeps and tatties, which was absolutely delicious. After ordering our food at the bar it didn’t take long before we could enjoy our food. The tables could be cleaner though. Our table was sticky and hadn’t been cleaned in a while.

La Barca Spanish Tapas & Wine Bar: “Mediocre at best”

I’m sorry but a tapas restaurant that serves stir fried rice instead of paella shouldn’t be called authentic. The rice wasn’t even yellow! I guess they forgot to add saffron. It was clear to me that the paella wasn’t prepared following the original recipe (there should be a crust on the bottom). The other tapas were fine, but it came as a suprise to me that they added orange juice to their sangria. The atmosphere was nice though.

Spice of Mull: “Great food, friendly people, complementary whisky”

We spent some time on Mull during our holiday and ended up in this restaurant, because we both love Thai food. The menu offers a mixture of Chinese and Thai food. I ordered the Thai mussels as a starter and a Chinese seafood platter as main course. With the main course I got rice with mushrooms. The waiter was very friendly and super helpful. The food was great. I especially enjoyed the mussels, which were big and very good. The food was presented beautifully en tasted even better. When we finished our meal we got a free whisky on the house. I can definitely recommend this place.

No.20 Boutique Bed and Breakfast: “Beautiful situated B&B with superb breakfast”

We stayed in this beautiful place for two nights. All the nice comments are well deserved. Cat & Toby are warm and welcoming people (and the little puppy was super cute!), who made us feel right at home. The room was stunning with a beautiful view. The breakfast was delicious (I had the pancakes and the omelet with salmon). I would definitely stay here again and was sorry to say goodbye to this lovely place. Highly recommended.

Allan Bank Bed & Breakfast: “A perfect stay!”

Very nice and clean B&B. We absolutely enjoyed our stay here. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, the room was beautiful, the bed comfy and the bathroom very clean. We had a sunny breakfast for two in a very cosy room with a large window facing the lovely garden. Breakfast was traditional and very good: I had fresh fruit with yoghurt and smoked salmon with scrambled eggs. I can definitely recommand this B&B.
